This book…
This book has been my Everest over the past year-ish. I started it on a beach vacation, where the first hundred pages came out of the binding and flew everywhere. I was thankfully able to round them up, but man, not a great start.
Once home, it became my bedside book for months… and months. It’s not that it wasn’t interesting. There was always something new happening or some secret being revealed. Nothing like book one (A Game of Thrones) where everything I already knew was being explained to me. Maybe I should’ve read the books first.
Anyway, I finally finished it a few nights ago, and immediately wanted to run upstairs to my shelf for the next one.
So far, for both books, Sansa’s POV is my favorite. Likely because I relate to her the most. It’s funny, though, I liked Arya so much in the early seasons of the show, and only started to really like Sansa toward the end.
My second favorite has to be Tyrion, at least in the first 75 percent of the book. These were also my favorite episodes of the show, when he was Hand of the King. I’m thinking I don’t like Shae very much, though… iykyk.
Third is definitely Jon, though every time I read about the ranging beyond the Wall, I feel so very cold.
Now, onto the next! I’m attaching the link to the standard copy of A Clash of Kings below, as well as the ASOIAF box set I’m reading.
